Spiritual Direction is an age-old process of listening for and responding to the movement of the Holy Spirit in our lives. Working with an experienced Spiritual Director provides a safe space to discover and grow in relationship and intimacy with God. As you share your sacred story in Spiritual Direction, you are better able to notice the sacred in everyday life experiences. You also can seek guidance and discernment during times of transition, grief, and major life decisions.

What to Expect

Step 1: Free Initial Consultation — We connect to explore whether Spiritual Direction is a good fit for where you are right now.

Step 2: Your First Session — We begin with your story: where you've been, what's alive in you now, and where you sense God at work.

Step 3: Ongoing Direction — Sessions are typically monthly (50–60 minutes), though frequency is tailored to your needs and discerned together.

Step 4: The Journey Continues — Between sessions, you are invited into practices, prayer, and attentiveness that deepen your awareness of God's presence.

Individual & Group Spiritual Direction

Individual Spiritual Direction

One-on-one sessions with Angela, offered in person, by phone, or via video. Session length and frequency are discerned together based on your needs.

Small Group Spiritual Direction

For intimate groups seeking to deepen their shared spiritual journey. Length and frequency of sessions vary based on group needs.

Large Group Spiritual Direction

Offered for parishes, organizations, and faith communities — often followed by one-on-one availability for individual direction. Can be combined with a Directed Retreat.

I had been drawn to Spiritual Direction for several years and didn’t know how to start, or the particulars of such services. God placed Angela in my life, and she journeyed with me following the death of my Mother. She was able to authentically communicate with me what spiritual direction was and was not. She allowed me the freedom to ask questions and make decisions about our sessions, based on my comfort level. We, of course, always allowed the Holy Spirit to guide us and that was the greatest blessing. I felt the Lord’s presence and found a renewed sense of peace and clarity after our sessions. When my husband started diaconate studies, one of the requirements to help in the discernment process, was for wives to seek out spiritual direction for one year. I started meeting with Angela Scaperlanda Bujan in the Fall of 2015. Spiritual direction was something new to me, and I wasn’t sure what to expect. I found that Angela calmed my fears and guided me to open my mind and heart to engage in a deeper relationship with God. She listened to me, asked me questions that made me think about my past, and who I hoped to become. She often gave me suggestions on books to read, prayers to say, and ways to express my love of God through the arts. Our time together was tailored to help me grow in my relationship with Jesus.
